Good luck with the install bro!

Now you're truck will have the performance to back up the looks. Let us know how she rips once you take it for a spin.

Just check to make sure all the sensors have a valid reading before you turn the key the first time. THat will save some frustration if you miss something.

Just wondering what the brackets and spacers are for?

Hey!! I just put one of those in my truck last April . Had a few challenges, as GM decided for some reason to make my truck a bit different from everyone elses. FWIW, here's a few tips:

1: Rent, borrow, buy or steal a cherry picker to install the blower unit. Not only does the blower weigh about 85 lb., but you have to angle it in as the engine sits part way under the firewall. A cherry picker makes it easy to 'gator wrestle the unit into place without dinging up the manifold ports.

2: In the instructions they sent me, they left out a step where a hose connects from the fuel pressure regulator to a nipple at the rear of the manifold.

3: On my truck, at least, the fuel filter was crammed against the ABS unit and a load of other junk, instead of the clean open area they show in the instructions. I had to get pretty creative on how to install the booster fuel pump.

4: Take your time and be thorough, and expect the unexpected. You may run into small discrepancies in the installation, so some creativity is useful. On the other hand, everything may just drop right in, as it apparently has for others. Just depends on the vehicle.

When you're done you will love the difference !!! The engine will feel very much like a 400+ CID big-block, with gobs of tire scorching low-end torque and smooth, almost effortless acceleration.

Take care, and hope everything goes well.

The kit comes with brackets to mount the heat exchanger in front of the radiator, and in my case, the trans cooler, and instead of having all that right in a row, I decided to put the heat exchanger behind the bumper valence, as there is a perfect opening down there for it to get fresh air. The large spacers are to raise the brackets and heat exhanger up about 2 inches since the Joe Gibbs truck (where the brackets came from) has a lower/different bumper valence. Search for heat exchanger and there will be a few links to pics about what I'm talking about.

GMC_DUDE - thanks for all the info! yeah my fuel filter is also surrounded by the ABS stuff, I guess the instructions show an extended cab or something.

Hopefully me and a friend will be able to drop that bad boy on w/o having to rent a cherry picker

Thanks for the heads up on the FPR tube, I remember others saying they left out that step as well

There is no need to rent a cherry picker.....two people can do it no sweat.

Just don't drag it across wjem you set it down. Be sure to spray the silicone spray on the heads to keep it sliding freely.
