So far Ive set everything out and parked the truck diagonally in the garage ("operation room position" to give me more room), I just planned on getting everything ready today then starting tomarrow, but you know how that goes.....so I took the plastic peice out of the bumper valence for the h/e opening, drained coolant, changed plugs (tr6's), and started undoing all the sensors and stuff on the manifold. I plan to have everything done tomarrow except putting the blower on the motor and steps that come after that, my friend will be able to come out and help on saturday getting the blower on. But in the mean time I can mount the fuel pump and h/e, etc

here are a few pics I took for the hell of it

BTW: does everyone use the expansion foam in the fender? All it does is muffle the blower noise correct? I dont mind the whine

I did not use the foam, and from what I've read, most people don't. In another forum (gm-trucks.com, I think) the question was raised and someone called Magnacharger. They said that the foam was for earlier models (99-01) and the later models don't need it. My advice: Leave it out. You can always add it later if the noise bothers you, but believe me, once that foam is on or in something it is a bear to remove.

You are one strong willed person to resist that temptation. I swear when I do anything to my truck it is the second that UPS or FedEx guy is turned around and walking back to his truck. I stay up longer than 20 hours sometimes getting things perfect. And I will often miss a meal because I am so wrapped up in what I am working on.
I guess I have it bad How people can keep a blower in a box is beyond me.

yeah, it was hard staring at that box all week, but its been worth it...gave me time to plan things and read the directions over and over hehe

I've been taking things slowly, but the manifold is off now, and it is pretty dirty with oil all in the manifold and intake runners...is that normal?

How many miles on it? Use some sea foam when you get it finished. That will clean those intake runners up some. Make a catch can with an air seperator too, that will keep the blower clean.

Be sure to clean the gasket surface and not get anything in the intake runners, then put some masking or duct tape on them to keep it from getting anything else dropped in there. Don't forget to take the tape off though, that would not be pretty.
