no they are their to turn them off. that or if you have edit you can delete the rear 02 sensors. or when you get a tune like Nelson.

My truck has a nice new smell coming out the exaust, almost smells rich. Is the "COT" going to kill gas milage? How do I turn it off other than with EDIT? damn im full of questions!!

they plug in between the o2 sensor and the pcm, it modifies the signal, essentially telling the pcm that everything is as it's supposed to be. these sensors are smog only and modding them won't affect your engines performance.

edit>engine diagnostic>hardware diagnostics ,first window use arow to scroll to ho2s bank1 sensor 2 and bank2 sensor 2 [banks are left/right, sensor 2 is rear], click on what you want to change [highlights it] toggle "does it set ses " to off, next window toggle to type x off. generally more airflow will set a code for low voltage so start by turning those off. i only turn off what is needed to stop setting codes, these diagnostics are there to help let you know when something is wrong. but as far as the rear o2s are concerned i believe you can turn them completely off without worrying. when you get done with your changes don't forget to save the file, it will say "overwrite existing file ?" click yes. hope that helps. e

Here is what I did. It sounded great when open, but I noticed absolutly no difference between cats or no cats when the cutouts were closed. When I took the cats off, I could see right through them anyway. Not worth it IMO.
