Any comments on the GY 295/40/20. I hear those have better traction.

same tread compound, same height, and only 10-20mm wider than the others GY's mentioned here....I can't see any better traction from them

I am getting my 20" wheels by the end of this month. What tires do you all recomend for me to get for traction? This is my main concern.

I like mine, the cornering ability over the 235/75s or whatever they were is amazing. I can break mine loose from a 35 punch. But I'm a pegleg too... I love them for the price and the amount of sidewall without droppin it. I think any more on a truck looks like ****, unless is a 4wd, then a little more helps to close the gaps. I think Mr. Mix ran them on his excab, but I dont know if he ran them at the track. Jsmith runs toyo 295s I believe... Check with him on the traction of them. I found that most of the 20in tires (about a year ago) when i checked prices were nearly 300 more a set for any brand that would get good traction... I'm pleased with the tread wear on mine. The ride is rough when they are cold, but its something I'm used to with 20s. I have 38lbs in them cold...

I didn't say they were a bad tire...hell, I OWN them...I was saying that there probably isn't a difference in traction between the 275's, 285's, and 295's.....

Cornering IS good, traction off the line IS NOT.....as long as you can deal with having to roll easy off the line you will be VERY happy with the GY Eagle GTII's

If you are willing to drop the tire pressure a little too then the tire becomes MUCH grippier off the line (20-25psi is about perfect....not reccomended for anything heavier than a RCSB though)

I totally agree. I just took mine off in Novermber for winter. It got to raining alot around here so everyday was a challenge. I would not recommend them unless you cant afford any better. I think I will go with the Nitto,Falken,or Toyo when I put new ones on in the spring.
