I think the general opinions are that.

Water cools the best but doesn't add octane.

Methanol cools almost as good but ads great octane but is flamable.

Denatured Alky adds octane and cools but is infearior to Meth.

Not sure of the last part though.


As for where to buy. You can see if Lance at California Street Machines in Suisun sells it. If not just take a trip up to Sac and buy it from TeeGarden Motorsports right off of 50. You can buy it in a 5ga jug for about $38 including the jug. That should last you a goo dbit.

Any use for meth with N20? I read somewhere if you spray meth you could still have the timming jacked up when spraying N20. Is that true?

 

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the proof of Methanol is? I know that most of the drug stores Isopropanol is 70 out of 200 proof and the rest is just water. Seeing as how any alcohol has an affinity towards water I would imagine that there is water in all alcohols unless that it is anhydrous ( 200 proof , without water ) and if you open a bottle of that you can watch it grow in volume as is draws the humidity out of the air. almost 30 years ago I made my own water injection setup for my 440 Roadrunner that would sparkknock on anything and used isopropanol in it and worked wonders. I am curious on the Meth though....

best spot to spray is after the intercooler if you have one but before the throttle plate. also if you can keep the nozle higher than the tank you will save yourself the need for a check valve.

i am thinking about using meth for my nitrous fuel. if nothing else it will take some load off of the rest of the fuel system, you will need a noid rated for alcohol.
