I have a programmer called "Proflash" from Street & Performance Electronics, and like it a lot. Easy to use, and you can change back and forth between different tunes to suit your tastes. The part # is: 200325 for 04 GMC. You can check out their website at www.wickedspeed.com. Get in touch with Sky, he'll help you out. I also think the Predator is good, too. Same thing with Crane. With me, it finally came down to price, since they all seem to do about the same things. With Predator, you can buy optional pieces to be able to download custom tunes from their customer service site, for a fee. With Crane, you can do some extra adjusting for their cams. Check out the Proflash, I think for the price, and if you're only going to do small mods, it's a good deal.

Only experieance I have had was with Hypertech and at first I thought it was kinda cool till I relaized I didn't gain much from it other than modified shift points.
IMO I'd get something that allows TQ managment removal or partial removal and timing adj. in case you decide to run nitrous later.
I think the overwhelming response here will be to spring for a custom tune.

I got a predator from Ebay new for $325. Got it, didn't do much for me so I contacted Johan at Diablosprt and he made me a new tune at no cost since I was having a problem. Ran with 3/4 tank more than before and did a bit better so I would say if I ran with 1/4 tank like before it did help. I like the options with the Predator. This is the nioly programmer that I have delt with . Easy to use and takes no time to use. Also like the Live data. Having to use high octane gas doesnt really bother me cause its not really that much more than 87 here.

Never mind, I guess you can't remove the TQ managment with the hand held programer. I just checked their website and that was not listed as one of the things you can do. But you can raise the top speed limiter.

I've also got the SPE Proflash and really like it. Do a little search on Fullsizechevy.com for it and you will find alot. A guy on the board over there helped make it and one sells it for a real good price. It allows for the types of tuning, octane, shift points, and firmness. It also removes tqm according to the tunes.
