Silent1 is always waiting on something. Hurry up and get his crap back on the road! It must be killing him being that close to a complete project.

You're right, it's KILLING me that I'm this close yet so far away. MAYBE, I'll be able to get the tune done by this weekend and have some track times for you.

The Lunati kit goes for about $3800 retail. Cam/spring kit add another $500. Plus misc. other chit (porting,fluids,gaskets,etc...) and I think it can be done for under 5k. Aluminum heads? Another grand I suppose. Does this sound about right?

Why don`t you ask Silent 1 it all adds up quick. No one figures in the little stuff and the machine work involved to get it all together CORRECTLY. And ported heads to feed that beast are almost $3000.

Alright buddy, your price is nowhere near what it's all going to cost you. I thought I'd save a buck and put it together myself, it STILL adds up-WAAAY UP.
Here's what you're looking to spend:
Stroker kit-$4000
Block- $650
Heads-$2200+
Head Studs-$220+
Main Studs-$180+
Head Gaskets-$200
Cam $280+
Block Machining(bore, hone, line hone, clearance the block)-$600+++
Cam bearings-$260+
Miscellaneous Gaskets-$200+

Now you need a drivetrain to hold it-
Built trans-$2000+
Converter-$600+
Posi-$300+

What about fuel needs?-
High flow fuel pump-$120
Injectors-$300+

Get it to run right-
Tuning-$500

What about bolts ons?
Rockers-$450+
LT Headers-$700+
Throttle body-$110+

Under $5K? NOOOO WAAAAY!
You REALLY need to sit down and think about the entire thing, not just the engine parts. Don't mean to put you down or scare you but, BE PREPARED. Good luck.
