Default Head & Cam for 5.3 & Radix?

Plan A is a 402 w/cam & heads etc.

Plan B is a 6.0 bored .060 over w/cam & heads etc.

Plan C is to put a cam & heads on my 5.3 w/Radix.

The problem with plans A & B is a place to work. My garage just isn't big enough to support pulling an engine etc and I don't have access to another place that is equipped to pull an engine/trans. These conditions caused Plan C to be born.

Any idea how much hp/torgue can be gained from a good cam & heads on the 5.3?

Thanks, Jim

Blownchevy got 44 rwhp from his cam, LPE GT2-3.

I hope more people will chime in because I would like to know more about this as well.

1/8 best 8.98 1/4 best 13.99 - 5.3 with Lunati Voodo cam @ .050 duration 212/218 lift .531/.531, HP Tuners s/ware, MSD LS1 coils and wires, 4.10 locker, Fast 78mm t/body, Cold air intake, elec cooling fans, Edelbrock headers, and ET street slicks. Factory heads as of now and factory injectors. Look at Patroit Performance for heads and cam setup for around $1500.00. Note with any of the aftermarket heads clearence becomes a issue
with r flattop pistons. Im still debating to build a 6.0 or another 5.3 and bore out to 3.898?

Before I lost my 5.3, I had stage 3 heads 2.02/1.67, 218/224 .562/.567 115 cam, TT 3K Yank stall, servo and rebuild kit on the 60e, big exhaust, .020 bore over to accomodate SC pistons from JE that were a hair bigger than stock and on the GTech I ran a 12.8. Weighing in at 5800 and using that number in a HP CALCULATORit says I would of had had 540'ish at the wheels. Definitely debatable numbers cuz none are real dyno numbers or track times, but should give you an idea.

You are figuring a stall with your good cam eh? trans go kit? vette servo? money on tuning?
