head and cam suggestions......
i have a lq4 that is fixing to be getting a bigger cam and some head work done. first of all, how would this cam{238/242 605/610 114+4} work with my mods and second, id i wanted to shave my heads (317's) to get around 11.1 compression, how much would i have to mill them and with the cam listed above i wouldnt have to flycut my pistons would i??

.030 mill is about what most people do with no problems. Don't quote me but I believe on an lq4 it will bring you to 10.1 compression. Use the search, I know there is lots of info on milling 317 heads.

no you wont..... i installed a Trex in a 03 LQ9 with a set of 243 heads. used stock MLS gaskets. Trex is larger then his cam on a 110 lsa. i had no issues with PTV clearance. this motor was also 11.1 cr

Really? my cam is smaller than both of yours and I couldnt mill my 243 heads any on my lq4 with my 228/236 112 cam and a .045 gasket. What were the clearances when you checked with the trex, and how much did your pistons come out of the hole?

i know but it has been done before and we had no issues. is it tight? probably knowing thta a Trex is meant for stock motor with stock heads. a ls1 has flat tops and with ls6 heads still with in the stock specs that thunder goes by. its just on a larger cubed motor. i took the chance and it cleard and runs strong
