header bolts backing out

Default header bolts backing out

If header bolts are starting to back out would loktite be sufficient to to keep them snug? Has anyone had these problems? if so what solution did you use.

miine have loosened up once or twice after my l/t install. i used some anti-seize and torqued them down to spec and havent had a problem with them since....

Cheap and easy ...put a couple of wraps of thread sealant tape on the bolts it will solve your problem.

don't use lock tite on aluminum heads, you actually want some anti seize. torque them exactly to spec and you shouldn't have any problems, if you do after that look at some locking header bolts.

what are they suppose to torque them to?

Locking header bolts are your friend.

i just tq down and go with it don't use any lock tite

Supposedly torque specs are 11ft/lbs from the center bolts out... then a second pass using the same pattern to 18ft/lbs. Some people go as high as 22ft/lbs.

22 ft lbs is for the rockers. 18ft lbs max on the header bolts.
