Header Coating Question
I am looking at getting the TOGs for my 1500HD 6.0 liter and was wandering what your experience and opinions are on getting the ceramic coating on them. Is it worth it or not?

It is supposed to help keep the O2's up to operating temperature to avoid throwing codes and to keep under hood temps down a bit. May also help with exhaust gas velocity due to higher gas temps and improve scavenging but hopefully not at the expense of low end torque.

You guys can take this with a grain of salt, but when I was thinking about getting the Dynatechs this was a big concern of mine. I talked with one of the tech guys at Dynatech who told me that whenever a customer wanted coated headers, Jet Hot was the vendor they used...BUT that <1% of their customers requested the coating. His explanation was that the T-304 stainless didn't need the coating; it could have also been the extra $$$ they wanted...I don't know.
If money weren't an issue, I'd have 'em coated.

Get them coated! The o2 problems alone are worth it to me.
Whoever it was that said T-304 didn't ned coating was absolutely right. It doesn't need to be coated to work as it should, but if you want it to perform like it should, then by all means, have them coated.
My personal experience is that Jet Hot is overpriced. You can get them done elsewhere for a lot cheaper. I had mine done at a local powdercoating company for almost half of what Jet Hot was going to do it.

t304 retains alot more heat than any cast material period. therefore it should always be coated because you will see under hood temps go ^ quite a bit. who ever said it didnt need it is right from a rust perspective but certainly not performance.
