Default Header hitting

One of the primary tubes is knicking the steering shaft.

Any ideas, other than denting the header?

My Thorley's do the same thing. It freaks people out when I turn the wheel all the way and it makes that loud vibrating clanking sound. Id like to know as well.

Who's header are you using? I installed a set of Dynatech headers the other day on a Tahoe & everything cleared fine. I have also used JBA shorties and had good luck. Let me know I will try to help any way that I can!!

I had a set of edelbrocks do this to me.
I called edelbrock up, and they replaced it free of charge.
said on some of these trucks, the stearing box is just a hair closer to the motor, so when you romp on it the motor twists, and vibrates on the steering shaft.

Yep, I have it when I turn the steering wheel also and romp at it. The steering shaft neck looks like a camshaft lobe and knicks the header.

I went to a junk yard, got a shaft off a wrecked truck, cut out the center section and replaced it with a smaller diameter and longer peice of solid steel that I had made by a buddy that works at a machine shop and welded the ends back together making sure everthing lined up. works like a champ.

blown. yeah thats what my dad said. " take the hammer to it"

Dough Thorley Headers is what I'm using.
