Default Header Instal from hell....

So heres the deal.. Left side Cat went out so i deceided since i would be doing the work i might as well throw a set of headers and y pipe on. Got the setup from ARH and its a very nice kit... Went to take the Exhaust maniflds off and before i could even turn the first bolt i put a socket on to check the size and it broke off in the head.. what do you know clean with the head nothing sticking out and an easy out wont take it out so far..

Ill be taking the heads off in later in the week man i hate my life

UPDATE:

Got it just about done headers installed beautifully, ended up getting the bolt out using a left handed drill bit so didnt have to pull the heads. fittment was great and i love the ARP bolts. only problem was the front left O2 sensor moved too far back to connect so i need an extension and the O2 simulators i bought for the rears are male plugs... and the truck end is male too. Anyone know where i can get female O2 simulators? and a flat type OBDII extension for the front O2?

This happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Still waiting to pull the head off. It sucks.

Ya, mine was the back drivers side too. It might not leak with manifolds on it, but it sure will with headers.

I have one bolt that wouldn't go all the way in and is sticking out like 1/3 of the way. No leaks

I'll get around to making sure the threads are good some time.

If you have access to a welder, weld a nut to the head of the broken bolt, even if it is nothing sticking out.. If you can get to it, get a good weld or tac on it, it will come right out.. I always suggest to start the engine up before taking the bolts loose, let the engine get warm, just about to the point where it is hard/uncomfy to get to the bolts cuz the heat... I have done a few swaps, never have had a single problem.. (watch I just jinxd meself) Also try to get a left handed drill bit, punch the bolt, have at it.. Might get lucky and back the broke bolt out while drilling

Welcome to the club...
It sucks.

The first bolt I touched on my header swap did the same thing.
Luckily, it was the front one on driver's side, real easy to get to, but still added an hour to the job. I wound up drilling and re-tapping mine.
