Default header install with engine out?

Im gonna be having the 6.0 swap done here shortly, would it be easier for the shop that does the install, to throw pacesetter long tubes on while the engine is out and then drop it in?

Thats what I was thinking. Will there be any clearance issues trying to drop the engine into the truck with the long tubes attached?
thanks

kinda hard to say. Trying to recall how my swap went, there shold be. But I never put headers on the truck. Only issue I forsee is the steering shaft. Make sure its way out of the way.

Just bolt it up and dont tighten it down all the way. This way you can wigle a bit if need be. If it sits right in, yank it up a few inches, tighten down and drop in

My Dynatech's go in very easy from the bottom side. I don't think they would clear the frame going in attached to the engine. Dunno about the pacesetters.

I agree. Slide them in after the engine is in

What I've done in the past (on other Chevy's, haven't tried it on one of these trucks yet), is to lay the headers in the engine bay, kinda layin off to the sides, then drop the engine in, with an extra set of hands and eyes to help move the engine and headers around until everything clears. I've tried installing engines with long tubes bolted on em before and never had any luck...too many clearance issues. Manifolds or shorties wouldn't give you a problem, but trying to swing an engine with LT's bolted to it would be more trouble than it's worth IMO.

I would drop the engine in and before bolting it down put the headers on to where you could move the motor side to side a little bit.
