be sure to use anti seize on the new bolts, incase you ever have to take them back out. I used an *** lol.

did notice some had heated up and boiled out from around the bolts a little bit.

Thanks Cknox, I'll remember that. I'll probably use the Cal-Speed bolts.

the aluminum heads will expand faster than the steel bolts.... done this every time with no penetrating oil. never had an issue getting the bolts out

I had no issues with both my trucks. I sprayed the bolts down 15 minutes prior to starting and all of them came out easily. My tahoe had 112,000 miles when I removed them too.

One recommendation is to only use hand tools on the head bolts so you can "feel" whats going on, If it doesnt feel like its coming out easily, spray 'em down and wait a few then give it another shot.

Haven't done it yet, lol. An amazing deal on an LS1 from a 2001 SS with a cam motion 221/226 and 799 heads fell in my lap so I'm going to put them in with my motor swap. No need to mess with the 5.3 beforehand. Thanks for asking though, lol. The headers came in and look amazing.

Dont use any paper gaskets, reuse the olds ones or spend the 14-20 bucks and get new OEM ones.
