i was told shortys give you more low end thats what i was tyold im not a huge truck guru but i just want sound and power im new to this but it looks like longtubes win any other good suggestions besides pacesetter? what about hooker or bbk? i know pacesetter is the cheapest by far but i dont just wanna buy them cause they are cheap. and another thing y-pipe or x? and any suggestions on muffler?

Well I bought JBA's shorty headers because of smog where I live. Now I'm thinking screw smog and I'm gonna get some LT's. As far as headers I'm looking at ASM and Dougs headers. I'd say borla, spintech and magnaflow all depends on your tastes.

I have a set of Edelbrock TiTech coated shorty's that are virtually new in the FS section 150 bux. I gained two tenths, and 1 mph with them on an otherwise stock 5.3.

+1.... i saw 2 tenths improvement on my tahoe (stock engine) and i dont remember the MPH. from what i have heard, go with the LTs. the pacesetters are cheap and they give good power over the shorties. they will be my next mod. i got a set of BBK shorties last summer. i had a bad experience with them though. the first set they sent had a hole burned through because of too much heat during welding and the second (current) leaked bad from day one. i would stay away from the BBK. if your set on shorties i have a buddy who has the JBAs and he likes them alot.
