header tips for a 5.3
well i picked up a set of edelbrock shorty headers the other other day for under 100 bucks im on a bit of a buget and im new to trying new exhaust and im curious about if i will notice a difference in sound or performance i cut out the muffler so pretty much running all stock strait pipes cats and all anyone have any tips or tricks on parts or install ie gaskets, header bolts, just anything will help and im open to anything just trying to stay on the cheaper side

i know its common sense but whatever u do dont get impatient and try to take out your stock manifold while its still hot.. that what i did and ended up breaking off 1 bolt in each head..use some kind lubricant or somethin and losen them slowly and dont over tighten when intstalling..and i noticed a slight low to mid range gain before tune and after..it was a world of a difference,

I use Stage8. With the cost of a set of long tubes not being that much more than a set of bolt on shorties the longtubes are a no brainer. If you use Stage 8 it helps to remove the plastic wheel wells. This makes removing and installing the header bolts a whole lot easier.
