If you had to get a set of headers for your truck what would you get? I noticed Dynatech just started to offer theirs without the Y pipe, I don't see much use in that since I would want to swap over to true dual exhaust myself.

What do you guys think, or are you waiting for something better?

Yeah.. as long as they are mid-long tube headers you will fine. TOG, ASM, Thorley Lapole make them.

If some of you who reply could also mention whether or not the headers you choose could easily weld up to the factory y-pipe/cats, I am interested in some headers for the Escalade that will weld up to the stock y-pipe/cats.

Thanks.

White Diamond, check out JSmith's site. At the bottom he has links to fast 4.8 and BigKids sites and a couple others. Most of those guys have headers, some with ASM Long tubes on stock Y and some on LaPole mids...

Btw someone have a link on the thorelys? I just want to see what I missed. My ASMs should be here tomorrow !!!

Thanks.
I had mine welded to the stock Y pipe with no problems.

I have and would buy again if I could do it over the TOG headers. I would have gotten them coated from the beginning if I were to do it again though. Don't get a header that isn't ceramic coated, you'll run rich and throw codes. I like the build of the TOG headers myself, and they were relatively easy to put in. Cut the factory y-pipe about an inch in front of the cats and have the collectors welded up there.

TOG's for sure no questions. They will work fine with your y-pipe set up.
