Default Headers?

Id love to hear opinions on Gibson and Edlebrock headers. I would appreciate any comment on those headers. I would also appreciate it if no one would post that long tubes are better or suggest other brands. Please only comments on Gibson and Edel Shorties. Thanks for any info

Sorry for posting the gibsons are ok headers not bad but have had quality issues with rusting really bad, the edelbrocks are good also, but why spend the $600 for shorties that will give you 5 maybe 6 hp when for the same price you can buy thorleys for 429.99. it's just a sensible thing.

edelbrock shorties only cost 350.00 compared to the long tubes at 800.00
I have a set of edel's on mine and think they do just fine. anything is better than stock IMO. but i would also like to have a set of long tubes, just dont have the funds to do that right now.
Oh BTW I have had my edel's for about 3 years now. no major issues

i got the edelbrock shorties last year. ceramic coated they were about $350. they sound better and just looking at the design compared to stock manifolds, i know they flow better. i got mine mostly for smog issues. did'nt realize until i replaced them, but my stockers were cracked at 20k. the fit was perfect, they have thick flanges, the bolts they provided hav'nt backed out at all. my underhood temp is much lower. can't give you h.p #'s but can say they "feel" better. of course i have to run cats so long tubes are'nt really an option and this is a daily driver/tow vehicle that is street legal and has excellent drivability. can't comment on gibson other then to say i've heard it is a good company. the reason i did'nt get them was, i was told they have more issues with alignment. i don't know that for a fact tha's just what i was told, of course the same guy told me to buy the whipple, and that was a big mistake. i'm happy with the shorties, did'nt have to cut or move anything and they are legal.

I have the Edelbrocks also, but unfortunately, haven't installed them yet. They are going on when the new motor goes in...if it ever does! The quality of the headers "looks" to be top shelf. I mean after all, Edelbrock has been at the top of the aftermarket performance game for 40 years! I got the chrome headers from Summit for $285, and I believe the coated ones were only like $319 or so. I would have rather had the FLP SuperMaxx (or whatever their called) with the cat Y pipe and all, but that was like $1300, plus shipping! ****, I only paid $1600 for my new 6.0L motor complete with injectors and throttle body, there was no way in hell I was gonna pay near that for headers. I've seen used Vortec blowers on ebay for that kind of money! These Edelbrock headers have been independanly tested to give 8hp to 10hp and increase torque at the Rear wheels, and lets say a good set of Long tubes (at best) will double that.....dollar for dollar, its just not worth it. I think there are cheaper ways to add 20rwhp then a set of $1300 headers.....like a $300 set of headers and a $400 set of electric fans and a $600 converter, etc., etc...you get my point. Get the Edelbrocks, how can you go wrong.
