N/A 5.3's dont need 1 3/4 primaries or 3" collectors to make power.

Why is a 1 3/4 primary necessary on an N/A 5.3? 1 5/8 is a better primary size for a 5.3 that doesnt have big cam or a blower.

Dynas collector is 2.5...

2.5 inch collector seems to be good for 500+ RWHP......If you are pro stock racing the collector theory MIGHT get sold here, but at the HP levels that MOST of the trucks here make.....the smaller primary and 2.5 inch collector is JUST fine.

it all depends on where you want your peak torque to occur, typically every 1/8" increase in diameter will raise peak torque 500rpm.

on a 325-ish CID motor in a heavy-ish vehicle that's driven daily you'll want peak TQ sooner in the rpm band.

very quickly, 1 5/8 will see peak TQ around 4100rpm, 1 3/4 will see peak TQ around 4600rpm on a 5.3L.

without the benefit of FI, a NA motor will do better with a conservatively sized primary
