I want to get some headers and have them installed but no one around here (new orlean)will intall them. Anyway, what involved in installing headers, I have absolutely no clue. Would I have to pull the engine? Take off the front suspension? something about the o2 sensors?

I had somebody tell me 200ish give or take some on ASM Longtube installation. I would reccomend the ASMs, TOGs or Thorleys, don't waste your time with shorty headers. You won't have to remove the engine just have some cutting/welding done to the exhaust after you put the headers on. The 02 sensors should still work fine I beleive, if i'm wrong there someone that has them will chime in i'm sure.

I'd think twice about the headers. Just had hookers put on my z71 and it has been a nightmare. The ******** that did it really fucked up my truck. If they don't get installed properly you are screwed, find the best exhaust guy its well worth the extra money in the long run.

if you have a lift, it will be real easy. i put on my shorties in 2 hrs.

A friend and myself put my Thorley's on in less than 3 hrs, including changing the spark plugs. The hardest part was changing the #7 plug.

You will need a sawsall type of metal cutter, welder, standard sockets and swivel. Remember to remove the front O2 sensors. After welding the flange on the cats, one side was slightly off center and required a prybar to align. The Thorley's were an easy fit and I had no problems getting them in from the bottom. After they are on a week, retorque all the bolts and that it.

if you want headers and to have them installed then go to futural. they will sell and install the headers for you. if not then you can do it yourself as well.

The header install on a truck is easy. The f-body install is a little more involved, but I wouldn't worry much about the truck install. Just get them in, and get it to a good muffler shop to have them button up the rest of your exhaust.
