Headers ASM or Thorley
Which headers should I get for my truck, I am looking to gain some lowend torque. Thorleys are cheaper, but I haven't seen any numbers from them. I don't really care to much about coatings, just looking for best performance for the dollar. Does anybody have Thorley headers, any dyno numbers.

Re: Headers ASM or Thorley
Don't bother with the ASM's the coating on mine is gone already and rusting through ...
I emailed them about and they won't even respond
My advice get the asm's and don't get them coated
You can get them done by a guy locally for $300 or so and the coating won't flake off
My truck had 14k on it and they look like **** and i have to get them recoated at 400 and that's to strip the old **** off and recoated them
sorry to vent
Just my view on ASM headers and customer service

Those were the Thorleys, remember Jet Hot is awesome with their coatings. I used them before, and then nevermore, cuase the **** works real nice, like butter and spice.

I like my ASMs. I got a real good deal, but they were a total pain to install. Probably 12 hours of labor total plus a new dipstick, torn hoodliner, scratched firewall and broken starter wire, but in the end it was all worth it. Be prepared for anything.

Re: Headers ASM or Thorley
I would like to see some pics. Does the silver color look like a paint or is it a clear coating?
It took me like 10 hours to put in my headers, would have been maybe 7-8 if I had all the right tools. Didnt break anything doing the install though.
Definitely worth it! I felt some real SOTP hp/tq gains top end and throughout the whole rpm range. Wish I dynoed it before the headers though. Oh well.
