I put a distributor in 180 out on a 340...got that slow,F'd-up cranking and I was too dumb to stop cranking soon enough...it fired and almost blew one of the valve covers off.

Got the rest of the exhaust on last night, took a little longer to make the Y-Pipe than I thought. Tonight I'm gonna cut the rest of the header wrap off (except for the collector near the starter) and fire it up. I also advanced the ignition timing significantly.
I'll have the timing light ready and hooked up when I start it so I can do a rough adjust to it to get it close.
Hope to post results tomorrow morning.
Thanks,
Mike

Update:
I got it started last night. This time I removed all the exhaust wrap except for about 8" worth near the starter, bolted on the rest of the exhaust, and advanced the distribuitor (turned it about 30 degrees CCW). I started it and set the timing to about 6* and all was good. The headers have a faint glow in the complete dark, but with the least bit of light you can't see it. I let the cam break in for about 30 minuites @ 2000 RPM then took it on a short drive, think the timing could stand to be retarded a few more degrees though.
The only real problem is the mysterous hole that appeared in the radiator!
Thanks for the help!!
