Default Headers, heat, and tranny problems??

I noticed that since installing long tube headers on my truck, it began the issues with a hot running tranny, and it just got worse with the turbo setup (see classifieds for turbo/engine sell).

I am going to go back to the n/a route when the turbo sells, and probably going to go back to a shorty or mid length header similar to some jba's I ran when the truck was new and did not have the tranny heat issues.

I'm looking for suggestions on what headers will give the most gains in the mid length style, least amount of issues with leaks and rust, and bolt up without gyrations. Thx!

Hamm and LaPole headers kicked ***. Check yours and make sure you dont have a tranny line right against the header.

Ok, young mr smart ace, er I mean drooled or spooled or whatever-I have 3 tranny coolers on it now.

The tranny lines have been bent as far away as we can get from the exhaust, without relocating them completely, which may be the next move, and everything is wrapped with heat wrap, and the exhaust coated.

That's why I asked about the shorty-midlength headers, as they seem to not create the heat issue that full length headers do.

3 coolers why not just get one good one. something isnt right you need 3 coolers honestly.

i run mids and no issues with heat what so ever just had to tweak the lines some to get around the starter and not interfer with the headers

headers or a turbo wont cause your tranny to run warm. my tranny lines were less than 1" from my cross over tube and i only get over 200deg's if i hotlap the truck at the track. i have a $50 cooler and a 2800stall.

what is your set up? how are you monitoring the tranny temp? is the coolant temp hot too? do you have a big front mount intercooler right in front of those tranny coolers? just looking for other causes...
