Default Headers installed...new sounds I am not used to.

Ok, got my headers and ory installed today! My question is whats normal in regards to the sounds it should make? I have a sort of "sssssssssssssssss" sound when I get on it, is that because there are no more cats?

throw a bullet infront of your muffler and that sound will diminish significantly

its a resonator. they come in different sizes. you'd need to get one for you pipe diameter. you put it infront of your muffler and it cuts the rasp out of the exhaust.

I am also having a very prominent exhaust smell...is that because I only have the ory clamped together and not welded? I keep getting the picture that I have exhaust escaping from all my connection points which results in the "ssssssssss" sound mentioned above.

Did you place your hand around where the clamps are while the truck was idleing? If you feel a slight buff then it is leaking.....

Didn't feel anything...think it is coming from the heads? Should I check those bolts?

The smell of gas is from not having catalytic converters. That is what they do, convert unspent exhaust gases. It also should be more noticable when the exhaust gases are "cold".

Ok, so basically something I have to live with? Should I have a cat welded back in?
