Default Head's & Cam question

Ok I am putting a set of S2 5.3 head's on my buddies truck..The head's are here (2.02/1.55's) will the 2.02 intake valve clear the 3.7" bore? or will I need to notch the block..Also I know with the 2.02 intake valve, piston to valve clearance will be tigher..What is about the max cam people are running in here on the 5.3 truck's? I need some assurance on the largest cam anyone has fit in an LM7 without any piston to valve issues..then I will atleast get a pallpark idea on how big I can go..BTW the head's are milled .010"..Thank's,

Carter

I ran 2.02 and 1.60 valves on my 5.3 with no clearance problems. I don't know how big you can go but, I do know that the comp 218/224 527/534 cam along with 1.8 rockers will work without any issues also.

Man, that intake valve is a bit large for a 3.78" bore. I wouldn't have gone over a 2" as you will be shrouding the combusting chamber and loose port velocity...hell even the stock 1.89 would have been fine for the standard bore. But eh, either way just try to measure the piston-to-valve clearance. For just a guess around .540" or so as you are decked.
