Heads, New Cam, and Intake install on my 4.8
Well i have had some parts laying around for a few months and I finally decided to start install them and get some results... I wanna see just how fast the 4.8 can go... I want to see 12's... My fiance is out of town this week so hopefully i should have the heads on and retuned by this weekend ...
My fastest time at the track is 8.58 @ 81mph (1/8th)... I plan on installing each part then go to the track to see what results come from them, maybe the dyno (that is a big maybe)... I don't care about dyno numbers, i am more interested in track times
So the parts are:
First - PRC stage 2.5 heads, milled down to 58cc, Dual spring and Ti retainers. I will be installing them with a .04 head gasket.
Second - Custom Cam from Ed Curtis @ FTI specs unknown
Third - NNBS 90mm (actually 87mm) intake and DrX harness...
So now for the pics.
Today's Progress.. All this only took about 1.5 hours, previously i had reran all the wires on my motor which makes removing the intake super easy, only like 10min... Hopefully this time i can get the wiring covering back on
PRC heads
Now a side by side pic of the new 90mm intake versus the 78mm intake. You may not be able to tell but the runners are alot longer, the intake itself is a lot bigger... From what i have read, longer runners promote more TQ... Well we will find out...

Nice, I'm looking forward to your feedback with this swap. I just barely got my tuning problems taken care of. LOL I kinda wish I went bigger with the cam...
