Heads, New Cam, and Intake install on my 4.8
#195
Yep i got the cam installed and partially retuned today. It idles alot better than my previous cam, thank goodness!! The topend is about the same maybe a hair better but the midrange is alot better... My previous cam had a pretty decent gap inbetween 3000-4200, i believe the new cam filled that gap nicely... I still have my shift points at 6600 and it seems to pull all the way up to it...
So in review the cam was not a drastic change, much more streetable than my previous cam, low and midrange are alot better and combined with the new heads, i am really happy...

Thanks man, the truck drives soooooo much better now, driving it work was actually a pleasure rather than wondering if it was going to surge at a stop sign, the RPM band was like a honda vtec, not having to worry about it dying while reverseing, etc... I just put it in gear and went!
BTW the exhaust note, definately changed. Hopefully this week i can get COS3 loaded back on so i do some lean curising and lean out the idle so it will chop alot more..
