Heard Some Weird things about 3000 Stall!!??
I called summit racing today, and they enlightend me that a 3000 stall would eat my 4l60e transmission alive. They said that since i have 4.10's in the rear end, that the 3000 stall would slip and cause way to much heat build up. I have no idea which way to go. Does anyone have a 3000 stall with 4.10's or 3.93's and only the stock cam??? Are the guys at Summit just full of ****? Would the trailblazer converter be the best bet, and if so whats that stall??

If you are talking about the TCI SF3000 then Im sure you would be fine. Many guys on here are running that converter with no ill results. Although the trailblazer converter is a good choice too if you want to retain tow capability.

i dont tow anything! Thats what I was thinking, i was going to buy the TCISSF3000 and the guy at summit was tlaking ****, saying thats more stall than you could ever need in that truck? What effect will the 4.10's have on it. Will it lock-up travleing down the highway?

Uhhh, I think those guys are full of ****.
I've had my Vig 3200 stall for awhile and I give it a good beating every now and then. Recently I've done about a dozen 100 wet shot launches from a dig on drag radials and it's still ticking (how much longer I do not know ) I sprayed through the 1-2 shift everytime too
I have 4.10s, my tranny has a Transgo shift kit, superior servos and a B&M cooler. You will need tuning when you get the stall.

What the hell do the gears have to do with the converter? All I can see is that the deeper gears would allow you to get moving at lower rpms with the looser stall. With the taller gears you'd have to rev it higher (while under the stall rpms) to get the same amount of movement. I would think the -taller- gears would tear up the tranny more with a looser converter.

Dude, I've been spraying the summer with my tci 3000 stall, through shifts and everything. Drove 2 hours to the track, ran a few time on the bottle, and drove 2 hours home. I've done that a few times. Keep in mind I also have a tranny cooler, Superior servo and overdrive servo. I have not had any problems as of yet. Basically, they are full of it.
Edit: I have 4.10 gears, and a 125 shot.

I have been running a vig 2800 with 3.73 gears for a year now, and have had no ILL effects.
and actually it's to small of a stall. need to go to a 3200..

If anything a stall is easier on hard parts because it absorbs some of the shock of a hard shift. Heat would be the only thing I'd say that would hurt a trans but, with a good cooler that can be controlled.
Most "phone techs" don't realize how well these motors run and how many rpms they turn so they recommend smaller stalls. In reality these engine love to be spun up.
