Default Help!!

Im new to this site, I got a 2006 Chevy Crew Cab, I bought it with the 4.8L V8, and 3.23 (one legger) gears...a couple of my buddies have the same trucks, but with 5.3's and 3.73 gears...every time that i've lined up with them, I get humiliated, I love my truck and I wont trade it in, but I need some help to keep up or beat these guys...im going to college, and work part time, so I need something reasonably cheap...any help would be appreciated..

About the only thing you could do to really give you a chance at those guys is posi, 4.11 gears, a cam and a stall. Thats a little motor in a heavy truck. I know the feeling

Save a little coin and get some gears. I test drove 2 CC's with a 5.3, one with 3.23 & the other with 3.73 gears, and what a difference the 3.73 made. Shop some prices with local shops.

Yeah, mine is a 4.8...I didnt think that it would be that big of a difference (power wise)..but yeah, my shift point from 1st gear to 2nd is 53mph, and 2nd to 3rd is about 95 mph...
