Sounds like it is the breather tube that is run from the Purge valve selenoid. The purge valve is located at the front top of the intake manifold, directly behind the T/B. I just had the same problem - like $25.00 from the dealer. It is letting unmetered air into the intake. This will cause it to run lean, along with other problems. Good catch, it took me a month and 2 trips to the dealer before I finally figured it out myself.

Sorry I didn't read all of your post. The tube leads to another valve port at the rear of the engine just behind the driver side valve cover and fuel rail. You gotta really climb up in the engine to get to it. Can't reach it from below on my truck, you might be able to though. The connection in the rear is just like the slip fit of the front connector from the tube to the valve. Get it on the tube and then squeeze the ring so it will slide the washer over and connect all the way. It's kinda a pain in the ***, and be careful to be sure you get it locked all the way down in the rear or you will have the same problem again (leaking unmetered air). I hope that made any sence to you at all.

Ok, Heres The Deal. I Have Tried The Starter Fluid Thing Tryin To Find Air Leaks-none. I Cleaned The Maf With Electronics Cleaner-they Were Dirty & Oily, I Guess Filter Oil. I Took The Throttlebdoy Off And Checkd The Plunger In The Top. I Replaced That Tube & Valve That Were Cracked. Now, It Only Bogs & Hesitates In Cool Weather @ 55-60 Degrees With High Humidity, Ideal Conditions Are When It Is Foggy. runs great when theres no humidity.Think Its The Maf? i am gonna try and swap my buddies MAF and see if thats the problem.
