Default Help! Cooling system problem

I need some help quickly please. I have an 06 Silverado LQ9 with a radix. On my way home today the temp needle pegged itself so i pulled right over. I looked around under the hood and there was plenty of coolant in the tank and everything seemed to be ok.

I got the truck home and thought that my slp 160 tstat might have froze up so i popped off the housing and replaced it with the stock t stat. That didnt help at all. The truck heats up within a minute or two to abuot 220 degrees with just idling in the driveway. Both upper and lower hoses are getting super hot but the truck will not cool off.

Is this the water pump? is this a common problem? the truck only has about 10k miles on it. I have never seen a water pump break like that, only heard of the seals going out and causing leaks. I have no leak so im pretty sure thats not the problem.

Any help would be great.
