Default Help - fast idle after LSXrT install

Just put on the LSXrT intake and when I started it up, it idled at 2100 rpm. Headers were also glowing red! What should I look for? No check engine light.

Probably a vacuum leak. The lsxrt are known to have problems with that.

Doesn't surprise me. I don't have much confidence from Comp Cams anymore. Any idea where most of the leaks are located?

I fought mine for almsot 2 years, I literally just removed it the other day and pissed on it on my grass.

What a Piece of **** product.

For your issue tho, It sounds like you have a Leak. I had 2 warped intakes, super common. Get a can of aerosol brake cleaner andand spray it around the base when its running. If the idle flares...its leaking!

you will need too retune also. mine flares over 2000 on startup and idles up a little coming to a stop. off idle part throttle sucks also.

Sprayed carb cleaner around base and the idle went up. Guess its leaking. Any idea on fixing it? Maybe use RTV instead of FAST gaskets?

Got it to work. I used RTV sealant and the FAST gaskets. Noticed minimal warpage also. I put the RTV ON IT. Bolted it down to 45 and let it sit for 45 minutes then tightened it all the way.
