damn i believe you are lucky it didnt do more damage to your piston.

Yeah it just BARELY went all the way through. I was pretty much at idle speed when this happened. I'm going to make a new thread in internal engine on how to repair it, so check it out if you have any ideas.

even though comps 918's are known for failure its still a single spring , and imo has no real failsafe, this is why imo a dual spring even a comp is alot better choice becasue yes it may fail but you wont drop it into your cylinder causing damage. just noticing it will be alot less likely.

i also beleive changing your springs every 20k or so isnt a bad idea at all.
