Default Help with lifter tick on fresh rebuild?

So yesterday I fired up my fresh LQ4 build. After about 30 seconds I hear what sounds like a lifter ticking.
Using a hose to try to locate it, I’m pretty sure it’s #7. Is there anything obvious I should look for?
It has a 216/220 600/600 cam with 7.4 pushrods.

Pull the covers and re-torque the rockers for a sanity check...
while your in there wiggle the rockers, rotate the crank by hand, wiggle more, repeat.

What lifters? What is the preload with those push rods?

Also inspect the rocker(s) for wear on the tip and pushrod cup... and of course make sure the trunion needles haven't escaped.

I upgraded the trunnions, so no needle bearings to scatter. I read on another forum that if you have a pickup tube o-ring issue it could cause #7 to tick. Sound like something to check out? It seems a little weird to me that it’s quiet for the first 30 seconds before it starts to tick.

Are you sure it is lifter tick and not an exhaust leak?

What lifters? What did you set the preload to?

Yeah, pretty sure. I’d get a video but I still have open headers so you can’t hear it on video.

I don’t remember now, it’s been 5 months ago, I did what the book told me to.
