Help make me fast
I've been reading a lot on this site and I'm a newbie to internal mods. I drive an 03 RCLB 2500HD 6.0 4wd on 33s and I'm looking for more power, enough to give cars and diesels around here a run for their money. The 6.0 was replaced last year with a reman with 100k warranty and I'm going to void the hell out of it but it's worth it to me. Currently I have a cat back, CAI, custom tune, and e fans. Planning on some lt headers into a single 3" soon but want some internals as well before I do that and get a re tune. The lq4 I got has a noisy lifter (tick tick tick) and I'd like to get rid of that. They can get me a new one for free but i dont see the point since im going to open it up and void the warranty anyway, plus i barely have 13k on this one. I'm looking to keep the budget around $600-$800 and can probably do that buying parts in the classifieds on here. Any suggestions?

Get a 224 ish cam and some pac springs...then save up for some budget LT's and maybe 4.56 gears f/r......last I would get a converter/shift kit/ trans cooler....that ought to get you out of the way of some diesels

They won't let the lifter be fixed, they want the entire engine replaced. They don't like people opening up their engines, it's stupid to replace the entire thing. Maybe I'll just gather all the parts and replace the entire thing and mid it while it's on the stand. It's just more work than what's necessary. Wish they'd just cut me a check for labor to replace the damn lifter, then I'd have some fun.

Are you sure it is a lifter tick?? Gm's are notorious for piston slap, which some people could confuse with a lifter.. On such a small budget, that will get you a cam, rods, springs, with a couple bucks left over.. Next you need a converter, gears. Them 3 will make a big big difference... The cam alone, esp in the 224 duration range, is still going to leave more to be desired on the low end..
