help me match a cam to my stall....

Just because guys run a 3000 stall on a 220 cam doesn't make it the correct combo, in fact the ones running that are alot slower then guys running the bigger stall to really get you in the powerband.
A 3600 stall is right at home on a 220 cam simple as that.
Everyone wants a bigass cam and a small stall, do it right and don't go bigger than a 220.
Really no point anyway if you only wanna spin to 6200rpms. Anything bigger is a waste unless you turn the motor.

Spinning off the line means jack, you can take a stock truck and spin off the line. That tbstall was a joke on your setup end of story.
You wanna run good times match the cam and stall not understall so you go thru a low powerband for 1500rpms.
It's always better to go with something that will get you closer to your peak torque which on the average guys truck on this board is roughly 4500-4800rpms.
800 under peak is a good place to shoot for if you don't mind the stall size.
For instance look at BlueCajun5.3 running a 220 cam and 3600 stall running 12.4's NA.
Toss in a 3000 and he would lose a good bit of speed.

i never said that was the best combo. thats just what i had at the time..it was better than the stock converter and cam.. it did fine for me

Doin fine for someone and getting the most out of your combo are two very differant things.
For this guy a 224 cam is stupid if he only wants to spin to 6200.
The 3600 and a 220 will get him the best times and a 3600 stall is not a big deal to street. I've driven em and it's not much worse than a 3000 when it comes to yank.
No real reason to go lower stall is my point.

I would recommend the 220 cam to go with the 3600 stall. They work very well together.

I wouldn't go bigger on the cam or smaller on the stall.

comp 220/224 .581 is a nice cam with a 3600 stall.
