Help me out.....
I have asked other forums, and they always say that im going to be wasting my time doing a v6 to 6.0 swap, but I have my mind set on it, and im going to do it. Theres only one thing though, my budget is running sort of low....need to know whats the cheapest possible way to run a 6.0 in my truck, im talking about subtract parts I dont need... is it possible to do a swap with $5000?
If you have a negative comment about 4.3 to 6.0 swaps PLease dont post about it...ive been through alot of BS about "your wasting your time" and stuff like that...
Oh yes, 2000 silverado

There's 3 6.0 long blocks for sale here in Chicago right now for $1000(intake to oil pan) so I'm sure a $5000 budget has you covered.

Shipping doesn't sound too expensive either.

Doing the swap right now 5.3l to 6.0l: long block $ 1100, cam/head work $ 1200, gaskets + bolts $ 240, exhaust $ 800, tranny upgrade $ 240. I'm reusing all FEAD off the 5.3l, the 5.3l '06 tb and manifold, stock air intake, coil packs and wires from 5.3l. did not change the oil pump ( shim only ) or chain. I think you will have to be very diligent to stay within your budget. Good luck

i will say that it is easier to start with a v8 truck for a 6.0 swap but ya gotta work with what ya got, im thinkin of swapping my 99 v6 out for a 6.0 maybe.
here's a great write-up on what all is needed and some things like headers and a cai, etc. can be repalced with factory parts but you get the idea
