Help me pick heads 243 best bang for buck
I want a pair of heads for my stock lq9. I added a fast intake. I am undecided on cam at this point and I am going to a 408 eventually. Best for N/A
Which 243 would you get. I want the best bang for the buck.

If you're going to build a motor anyway, the best bang for the buck is ported 317's. Same flow capabilities as ported 243's, just bigger combustion chambers. You can dial in your compression ratio with the pistons you choose on your build. No need to pay a premium for small chamber 243's. You already own a set of 317's that you're familiar with. 243's will cost you +-$400 and it's a bit of a crap shoot finding a good used set.

I guess Frugal would be better than cheap. I don't need a set of super high end heads. Maybe 2 grand or less would be a good budget. I was looking at AI or TEA reworked heads. I am not going super high lift I am going to try and use GM performance springs. TEA mid flow numbers look huge

I personally wouldn't swap a stock set of heads for a stock set of heads. 243 flow numbers are a little better than 317s. The real advantage of swapping is the compression bump.
