guess ill drop it down to 6500-6600 instead. booo lol, cant afford much **** right now.

LS1 Comp Cam 228/225 .588/.569 112LSA <-- the cam
and its a 5spd...screw autos

i could get different springs though i suppose. paying $150 for the springs and $185 for the cam. if i could ever sell my RC Car i'd get better springs and retainers...maybe ill just buy the cam off him and wait til it sells

so what springs should i buy?

we have customers that turn 7200 with stock valvetrain and ls6 springs with no problems. cams are in the 240* duration .540 lift. we do use arp rod bolts. these motors are 5.3L's that run 1/3-1/2 mile oval tracks. our motor has 3 yrs on it with 6800 rev limit. same cam specs.

i thought that with the short stroke the 4.8 was able to rev that high, with the proper cam and valvtrain, and rod bolts....ive read a lot of conflicting information on this forum. the poor 4.8 gets no respect.

the 4.8L can rev that high. on a regular basis with daily driving though, it's still only stock. it will give.

if those cams with 240 are @ .005 it is alot smaller that the one he is putting in plus they arent lifting as high either and I bet those lobes arent xer type either I think its stupid to not put in some heavy springs with that aggressive of a cam and those high rpms its like asking for problems. The reason I went with 918's is because I have a cam with symmetrical lobes and I shift at 6200
