Default Help a PT.Net Guy out...Retarded 6.0L Question

Hello all

Yess yess I am ad advocate of the search button, but I am extremely busy this time of year, and barely had enough time to jump on here to post.

my 99 rcsb has a 5.3 now. I have full bolt ons, trans, rear end, the whole bit.

Decided Im gonna do 6.0, Heads and Cams, plus all my bolt on.

What 6.0L do I want? lq4 or lq9?

What head and cam(tr224) package works wicked, not a everyday driver, looking for a large loop and great performance. I have to order a new stall anyways...

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it guys

Look at the Ly6. It already comes with the L92 heads, it has vvt but you can remove that.

Any year lq9 or an 05+ lq4. Lq9 is nice because you can get some decent compression just from a set of 243's.

I was wrong, it is a vortec max truck, so it does have 317 heads and lq4. Ive been looking at the WCCH Stage 2 Heads......

I'm pretty sure the vmax was an lq9. doesn't really matter except you'll need to know when you pick heads.

The WCCh 317 stage 2 heads are nice but if you want to raise your compression you'll need to mill them a bit. Especially if you get an lq4. I'd look into the 243 heads.

Well if it does have the flat top lq9 then getting the WCCH heads, would be better then 243 heads no?

Been looking on and off as i get 5-10 minutes. Talked to TSP, said the ls6(243) heads and a 224 cam package from them would work nicely and get the compression up..
