Yea so you take .030" - .040" off the heads and that would put you around 66-68cc chambers. I was under the impression that he wasn't trying to make the camaro fast, and not the truck. You guys are splitting hairs

You're exactly right, the truck is going to be my DD, I just want it to run good with my 5.7L in there thats all, I want it to run strong. The 6.0L and camaro I want to be fast, low 12's to be honest is what I want the camaro to run. Which is why I asked the question of which motor I should put in the camaro, I want the better one that can support more HP and is the better performance block. I am going to Head/Cam and tune and everything there.

The only benefit I see towards running 317 heads on the LS1 is that by dropping the CR you could run 87 octane.

I guess I just don't see the need to buy new heads for a bump in basically no compression. Thats just my biased opinion as well. Oh well

OK So I should just clean my 806's up real good, bolt back on the LS1, throw it in the truck and drive. Then just do whatever I want to the 6.0L for my camaro.

You could get a set of 243s and put on the LS1 and basically have a LS6?

Do you have the coils for the 806 valve covers?
