HEMI question about their head design.
#13
Hi guys! I just joined though I lurk here every once in a while. My buddy is Raughammer and I used to have a 99 T/A. Lost it in the divorce...12.97 only time at the track. It was a sweet car. Anyway.....
About the Hemi. It is not a true Hemisperical chamber, but rather closer to a wedge design with splayed valves with much more shallow valve angles. The ports do oppose each other and they have centrally located plugs like in the 426 Hemi. So in reality, it's a semi-Hemi!
They run decent but are turds off the line. From idle to 4300 they bite, but once it gets to 4300, you feel a noticeable difference and the motor revs much quicker. And, when they shift at 5600, it drops back down to 3500.
Anyway, I know a few of you guys, Nineball, Raughammer, etc...so see ya guys around at the track!
