I constantly see you post in threads where someone asks for a cam spec'd to their application and you insist that there are too many factors to come up with a grind off the top of your head.
But yet... You give me the following info as if it is enough to come up with 'correct' valve events. Heck, you didn't even list the motor.

It was mentioned in the earlier post "vmax" which is a LQ9
Yes you got me there,about my past posts requiring all the info for a cam spec. I can give you all the info if you think it is nessessary to give a better cam spec than the GT2-3( or what you would do).Hey if you dont have a recommendation thats OK.I was expecting from your first post that you had a better LC spec for the radix in general.

I thought I got you pretty good
I'd use drastically different specs than the ones used on the LP grind. For one, that was designed around a Vette. Infact, it's very similar to the '02+Z grind.
Everyone says 'I can afford to give up some low end with the Radix... I'd have to disagree because I don't think there is such thing in a 2ton+ vehicle as having 'too much' acceleration off the line.
If we stick a camshaft in there that gives 30-40ftlbs @ 3-4K... Hell yeah, that's a good thing... Plus, most of these setups use 3000RPM or less torque converters.
I don't think you need a big cam to make 6000RPM... Most Radix dyno graphs show 55-6000RPM peaks with the stock profile... and that's a 191*/190* grind in the 4.8s/5.3s.
I haven't checked the kind of lobes Ed Curtis has in this range... but it would be small, aggressive lobes... Definetly VEs that give way to a tighter LSA.
The 207/220 118.5 probably has a IVC of 40*+ @ .05''... Too much IMO.
That 207 is a decent lobe BTW.
Just some thoughts...

From your first post on this thread I gathered you knew what in the hell you were talking about.Someday I will ask you for your opinion for custom grind and also an off the shelf grind for my exact application.Which would be for a radix on a LQ9 CC4x4 stock tires,they all come with 4.10s,catback and maybe no LTs.It seems to me with Blowns choice of cam he picked up some 40ish HP overstock @ only 6K rpm,you may have something in mind that would have been a better choice.

I'm just talking in general here and remember now, Gonzo is the one who asked me the question about his setup and how he wanted something near 6000RPM for peak HP.
And lets think about the valve events real fast. Mainly IVC
I'm not positive on the LP cams exact ICL... The LSA is a 118.5... I sure thought it was 2* advance but I'm probably wrong.
Either way, we're looking at a 40*+ IVC in a 5.3L... Stock IVC is roughly 29* (correct me Grippy, I don't have my VE calc.)
Radix in a 5.3L w/ the stock cam (29*IVC) makes peak HP @ 5500-6000RPM. What I'm getting at here is the 3000-4000 range can be 'fattened' up with smaller VEs and a tad more overlap.
Tell me what you guys think...
