Sport and others that have played with a lot of cams and cam science.This question may sound different than my original question. We all know blowns set up.I am wondering what could be better about his cam,while staying in the same duration and lift range. Now maybe you cant answer that without more info.This is about as simple as I can break it down.Now for my application I described,I would want a cam prescription close to the GT2-3,if it could be better I am all ears. I feel 6K RPM is the magic number,not looking for lope,easy Idle tune,maximize the radix.The use of LS6 springs and quiet operation,I am thinking in the area of 210/570/115 0r 116,I know that doesnt tell all of the story event timing or lobe design but I dont think I am far off.

honestly, if you want a cam close to the gt2-3, you might as well go with the gt2-3, something AROUND the cam specs of the gt2-3 isn't worth the trouble, and might not be as good, and if better, will be so marginally because it's AROUND the specs of the gt2-3.

sorry sportside, don't feel like getting all that deep into cam specs and valve events today, maybe after the holidays.

I did some reserach on cams, and I had various recomendations. Actually when I called Lingenfelter, they told me the gt7 was the cam to chose with the radix, which is 208/230.

I was then puzzled, however i seen the results blown had 44rwhp, and remember charris having a good experience with the gt2-3 in his h2. Here is a reply to a PM I had sent him. I consider him to be very reputable. He also went from a larger cam to a smaller cam with no change in performance.

Here is the PM;

Lingenfelter recommends there gt7, but I see that you and brain both went with the gt2-3 and had favorable results. What are your thoughts?

Thank you. Really appreciate your help!

Jason,

You just can't go wrong with the GT2/3. Its a proven combo that doesn't bleed off excesive boost. I ran the 215/232 CheaTR cam and it ran the same times as the exact same combo with the GT2/3. The smaller GT 2/3 gave the best driveability and makes it my only choice.

Let us know what you go with and how it goes. The right cam can really wake that combo up.
