My 05 ccsb also came with 3.23 and they are just sad. Which 4.10 setup did you run with and if you don't mind, what did the whole upgrade run you?
I have been looking for 3.73 but wondering if I might as well do 4.10 while I'm in there.
I'm running 24's (305/35/24)on this truck right now so I need all the help I can get!

I have an 05 1/2 tonner company truck. It has 4.10's in it stock. It will not spin on on dry pavement. If you floor it from a dead stop it is a puke, but if you get rolling about 5 to 10 mph and nail it, it will really take off. The computer will not allow for any standing stop pedal mashing. The 4.10s seem a little low for most things. It does give it more grunt at slow speed, but for hours of running 80 mph, they suck more gas. The one thing about it is that it doesn't downshift on hills very often, and I really like that. 15.5 mpg, is all I can get out of it. Has the same mods as my 8.1. Need a tune and it would really run, but it is going by, by in 2 months, when the new 07 4door shows up.

That sucks for the newer trucks then.

My 2002 ECSB 4.8L w/3.42's will spin 'em in first no problem.

Get a custom tune, or if you are adventurous and own a laptop, get a copy of HPtuners and go to town.

Sadly, the cheapest way to make a 4.8L with 3.42 gears feel fast is to take the damn 255/265 tires off the back and replace them with 235's or really shitty 255's. You honestly WILL have less traction. I remember how badass my truck was to drive when my old REVO's had about 20% tread left. It would get sideways without any effort, and burning the tire(lol) was not a problem. The second I put some new 255's on, the fun level just kinda petered out...

Now for some reason(*cough*no backpressure*cough*), I'll gun it and it wont start squealing until about 5K rpm. Not as fun, but useful for pissing off the ford guys.
