Default Hey Parish8 finally got the 383 installed! Video clip

It's been down for over two years!

Broke crank snout off the stock 2-bolt L31 5.7L shortblock, November 2002....

This is the new 4-bolt 8.9 to 1 compression all forged 4340 383/6.2L with Vortech V1-S-trim blower, Huge 7.3L turbo diesel intercooler with 6psi of boost! Ported 80mm BBK, MAFT+, 4" intake/huge K&N, Thorley headers with dual 3" cats running to dual 3" pipes to a 4" single collector through a 4" Magnaflow diesel muffler out a 4" mandrel bent tailpipe with 5" tip......approx 500+HP?

Engine specs:

SRP Forged 31 CC Dish Top Pistons (8.9 to 1 compression with milled vortec heads at 56cc chambers)
Wheeler Motorsports Moly Rings, file fitted
Scat 4340 Forged Steel Nitrated New Stroker Crankshaft-Internally balanced, One piece main seal!
Wheeler 4340 Forged Steel "H" Beam New Connecting Rods-5.7" length (lite weight...600 grams each)
Clevite "H" Series Bearings
Durabond Cam Bearings
Clevite high volume oil pump and welded pickup.
Chromoly flex plate
Crower 0041LM Cam 214/220 duration, 473/496 lift 114 Sep.
Stock Vortec steel heads with stainless steel Ferrea valves, stock intake 1.94 with oversize 1.6 exhaust, comp valve job, HD single springs, screw in rocker studs, Crane roller rockers 1.5 ratio, moderate bowl work on ports....bias flow on the exhaust side.

K1500 3dr truck wight is 5200lbs, now with 3/4 ton 15 bolt 9.5" R&P with 4.10 gears (from 3.73) front and rear, Art Carr 2500+ Stall TC with approx 2.15 STR (had stock 96 vette TC w/2500 stall 1.8 STR) Ran 14.10@95.5mph with the tired old 350 with 130K on it but it was running 7.5psi of boost with a smaller pulley.

Only have 100 miles on it so far. Going to put on about 3K before I do anything crazy with it. What do you think the max HP I could get out of this and quarter mile? Any guesses guys?

Nice!!!

I don't see any reason you couldn't pulley that blower down and get 650+hp out of it. With 10-12psi it should be in the 650hp range. That blower is rated at 680hp so it should be able to do it.

If you do that 11's could be there.

Sending you a PM here in a minute also.

Very nice Ken. It just took selling your house to light a fire under you to get it finished.

Just read that you ditched the 2 extra injectors unter the TB. Hope that the extra 4 work out the way that you want them to. Congrats on getting it running again.

Sweet setup. Its really an unsuspecting looking truck. You should get some good kills and **** off some vette owners.
