Default Hi-temp engine coating...(rattlecan)

Worth it? I bought a set of pacesetters non-coated and was debating.

I will last a bit but it always burns off again. Its not thick enough and most importantly annoying.

You have to sand them completely.
Clean them completely
spray them with 4 coats
then in-stall them and start the motor to bake on the coating. In less then 3 hours after you paint.

I recomend a test fit first to see where you can go wrong if at all.

They work great on motors, trannys, accesories, but not headers

I'm tempted to try some of the coatings POR-15 sell. They have some that are rated from 1200* up. I haven't checked to see how hot turbo parts get, but that seems like a pretty big number.

I just bought a can of this today and it claims to be used on headers and withstand up to 2000 degrees...

I'm not planning on coating my headers but if I take them off again I might!

Depending on your tune it can get to 1800-2000 degrees if your really rich. None of which is good.

To get the paint to stick right surface prep will be most important.

With high-temp coatings, the thinner the better. Even then, it won't last forever.
