hello , I have started my build for a 408ci LQ9 with callies rotating , I also bought the holley Hi Ram intake ,with 102 mm BBK throttle body
all of this going into a 2000 silverado 1500 step side single cab under 5000lbs truck
I was wondring what would be better for me the stage 2 or 3
its my daily driver , and ill be adding a smalish cam somting in the 230-240 intake an 230-245 exhaust max lift will be .660" , nothing bigger
also want the chamber to be at 70cc standerd size
thanks

Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry. Based on the combination of engine parts and application I would suggest running our Stage 2 cylinder heads. I hate to say this but I think the Holley ram will hurt the torque curve where you will need it to push the weight around. The runners are just too short. That tunes the engine's power band for strictly high rpm usage. It will be no problem to make the chambe size 70cc and we have valve spring kits that will allow you to run up to .660" lift. Pricing will follow the advertised price on our website : Untitled
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Kind regards,

that'll help you get out the hole
when i first ran my 408 i was shifting at 7k-7200, then i went back to the prints of the motor, talked to James more about it ( and finally listened lol ) i now shift at 6600 and shifting right into its powerband ( hoping ) dyno will finally happen the 22nd of this month.
thats an awesome build i'm pushing right at 12:0 compression something like 11.95 so forth. though i run a bigger cam ( 252/263/ ) its all out holding nothing back, i like what you have going there, if youre not gonna spray no more than a 200 shot i really think the intake will serve its purpose, i'd luv to have tried it on my setup, i wouldnt hesitate to think twice about spinning 70-7400 rpms or more if thats what it takes.
the cam you menton, is that a spected cam? i hate to say without a transbrake or bigger stall it darn might be a dog off the line but i bet she pulls like a freight train but i also doubt you'll have to spin it to much north of 6900 or so
i cant justify putting a transbrake in my 60E, i want to but it'll probably ends it life, gonna see how it reacts to lots of nitrous 300 or better on the hit ..

Thanks for the info Sand Man, I wonder if the vic jr is better suited?
Skeet, I have had it running with a 4L70 with a circle d 3200 and it's not bad off the line. I want to get an aftermarket intake, but I don't want a fast because of my heads. So I'm guessing I'm stuck with the vic jr? The cam is spec'd by Pat G., it's a relatively small cam in the 408.

not so much different intake, im just not sure how the holley would perform with a bigger shot over 200 ? i know the vic jr will perform well! what i was getting at if you stayed at 200 or less i think the holley would out perform the vic jr. i know NA for sure, this is just my opinion thus i hadnt tried neither. anything over 200 i know the vic jr will work well, this has been proven!
