holy crap is my truck slow
Just got back from strip, extremely disappointed. I ran a 10.065 and a 10.066 in the 1/8th. Temp was about 80, high humididty. The truck feels so much stronger than that, I thought for sure 9.6-9.7. I think it might be the TQ mgmt and the pcm pulling timing. I dont know?? How much gain have some of you guys seen with a shift kit and Nelson Tune? I am just really disappointed right now, I think I will go take the Hypercrap off the truck and go back next week and run it with stock tuning. How much improvement should I get from tune and shift kit? Give me some Ideas PLEASE!!

With cooler temps I ran a 9.687@73.75 with mit tube, Ram/fresh air scoop, and a magnaflow exhaust. Stock paper airfilter, stock tune.
The temp must of hurt you. What's your DA?

60 ft was 2.25, that was with 1/3 tank of gas, trailor hitch, spare tire, stereo crap. The first time I ran with tow/haul on second was without and I still ran the exact time. The only thing that was good about the whole night, was the first race was really close, I ran an Impala SS and got him by a nose, we were side by side the whole 1/8th It was really close, he could not pull on me at all. The only way I won was on a hole shot, I had a .10 r/t to his .25. I am just wondering what kind of gains I will get from tune and shift kit, does anyone have any before and after numbers. I would like to think for around 600 bucks I should get around .5 to put me around 9.5??

I ran 9.60's with Airaid, tbspacer, hypershit on 93tune,shorties,and 3.73s w/eaton. I think for all the money it should run faster too but....., After my $3,500 in tranny work and my truck is still running the same but on 87tune, and 85degree temps. But I can blame that on traction issues.

I'm not looking at slips right now but I run 15.5's in the 1/4 with only free mods, hypercrap, and LS1 fans. What gives? I figured some of your times would be a lot better than mine. I live in south Louisiana, so the avg temp here is 80-90 this time of year with 80+% humidity.
